OKCoin Exchange Provides $ 100,000 Grant to BTCPay Server Bitcoin Payment Service
Cryptocurrency exchange OKCoin has allocated a grant of $ 100,000 for the BTCPay Server Bitcoin payment processing service.
The funding came from OKCoin’s independent developer support program launched last year. This is the second such grant from the exchange – the recipient of the first was bitcoin developer Fabian Yar.
“BTCPay Server contributes to the spread and wider use of bitcoin by increasing its practical value for merchants around the world, allowing them to conduct transactions in cryptocurrency,” – said an OKCoin spokesman.
“For us, this grant means recognition,” said the developer of BTCPay Server under the nickname Pavlenex. “This means we are doing something useful if the corporate education believes we deserve such a large donation.”.
The developers plan to use the received money to further distribute their product and bitcoin, expand the technical capabilities of the service, improve the API and user interaction.
“Right now our focus is on enabling people to build their solutions based on BTCPay Server. In the future, BTCPay should become more of a suite of technologies than a payment server, ”added Pavlenex.
BTCPay Server developers received a $ 100,000 grant from crypto payment company Square last September.
