Binance and TravelbyBit to Launch Cryptocurrency Payment Card for Travelers
Cryptocurrency exchange Binance this Thursday announced it is partnering with booking platform TravelbyBit to release a new crypto-backed reward card that will allow users to pay for purchases on major travel sites..
According to the publication, it will be a regular prepaid debit card with access to exclusive travel deals. Users will be able to fund their card using Bitcoin, Binance Coin, Ontology, and the Binance USD stablecoin, and then use those funds to book flights and hotels on supported sites including Booking.com, Expedia, Agoda and Ctrip, as well as TravelbyBit itself..
The launch of the map is scheduled for early 2020. Residents of Southeast Asia, Australia and Europe will be able to access it. In the future, the companies promise to gradually expand the range of supported jurisdictions. Interested users are invited to join the waiting list.
Binance notes that the project was initiated by TravelbyBit in collaboration with the exchange’s technical team. What payment system the card will be issued in is not specified.
